Migrants being used as pawns by socialist, communist groups to achieve open border goal, expert says

TIJUANA, Mexico—María Luisa Cáceres went to the El Chaparral border area in Tijuana on Nov. 25 to check the status of her asylum number. It was there, at a makeshift registration tent a week earlier, that she was given number 1,537.

The group organizing the asylum numbers is Pueblo Sin Fronteras (“People Without Borders”), an open-borders group that has supported several caravans of Central American migrants attempting to gain asylum in the United States.

The group writes the names of asylum-seekers in its book—each number is assigned 10 names—and when a number is called, that’s the day those people enter the pedestrian crossing into the United States and claim asylum. They have recorded more than 11,000 names since March. U.S. Customs and Border Protection processes around 100 asylum claims per day at El Chaparral.  Read more here

Gov. Jerry Brown Pardons Refugee Found Guilty of Murder and Robbery

California Gov. Jerry Brown has pardoned a refugee convicted of murder and robbery charges, as well as a Democrat former state senator convicted of felony voter fraud.

Jerry Brown, California’s longest-serving governor, pardoned 38 people on Wednesday ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, and has now pardoned a total of 1,593 people during his terms.

Brown’s pardons of criminal refugees, all of whom arrived in the United States as minors, are his latest effort to help immigrants whose crimes mean they are eligible for deportation under federal law. According to Gov. Brown, they have all completed their sentences and become upstanding citizens deserving of clemency.

Washington Times reports: The pardons don’t automatically stop deportation proceedings, but they eliminate the state convictions on which federal authorities might base deportation decisions. That gives the men’s lawyers strong legal arguments before immigration judges to try to prevent their removal from the country. Read more here

One-third of migrants in caravan are being treated for health issues, Tijuana health official says

Migrants who came with the caravan are suffering from respiratory infections, tuberculosis, chickenpox and other serious health issues, Tijuana’s Health Department warned on Thursday morning.

The spokesman told Fox News that out of 6,000 migrants currently residing in the city, over a third of them (2,267) are being treated for health-related issues.

There are three confirmed cases of tuberculosis, four cases of HIV/AIDS and four separate cases of chickenpox, the spokesman said.

At least 101 migrants have lice and multiple instances of skin infections, the department’s data shows. Read more here

70% of Mexicans Hold Negative View of Caravan – Mexican Newspaper

Majority also says Mexico’s president-elect should enforce border security

Seven in 10 Mexicans hold a negative view of the Central American migrant caravan traveling through their country to the US, according to a Mexican newspaper.

Additionally, majorities of those polled by El Universal said they supported tougher immigration enforcement and rejected calls to give the migrants Mexican work visas.

“46% of those surveyed considered that crime would increase, and another 27.1% would ‘take jobs away from Mexicans,’ so that the sum of both percentages shows that 73.1% of citizens have an unfavorable opinion of the phenomenon,” reported the newspaper, translated from Spanish.

This is an increase of nearly 10 percentage points since the newspaper took a similar poll in October.

A majority of respondents, 52.8%, also disagreed with Mexico’s president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador who suggested giving work visas to the migrants arriving in Mexico.

An even larger majority, 55.8%, said López Obrador should act tougher on enforcing Mexico’s southern border.

NBC News also reported that Tijuana residents in particular are upset at the migrant caravan over its standoff with US authorities and the ensuing disruptions at the border.

“For the more than 6 million people living in the San Diego-Tijuana border, which moves a $220 billion economy between the U.S. and Mexico, the San Ysidro Port of Entry is crucial in their lives,” the outlet stated. “Over 25 million vehicles containing roughly 48 million passengers and more than 16 million pedestrians go between the U.S. and Mexico to go to work and school, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation.”

Democrat Congresswoman Helps Illegals Into Country

A second Democrat in Congress is helping flood the nation with future voters for her party by helping them submit (possibly phony) asylum claims.

This time, it’s Representative Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.), an Indian immigrant who bragged on Twitter that she helped a handful of the illegals jump the border.

Last time, it was campaign staffers for Representative Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), the new wunderkind of the Democratic Party, whom the faithful hope is the next Barack Hussein Obama. Project Veritas divulged that O’Rourke’s senate campaign workers used campaign funds to help migrants in the caravan that surged through Mexico this fall.
