Mexico Begins Deporting 98 Caravan Migrants After Border Rush
Mexican immigration authorities initiated the deportation process for 98 Central American caravan migrants who recently rushed an international port of entry in Tijuana, triggering crowd control tactics by U.S. authorities. The Mexican government claims some migrants tried to attack police officers.
In a statement, Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) announced that 98 Central American migrants who were arrested during that clash are being deported. Authorities continue to investigate the incident in order to locate additional migrants to charge them under immigration laws for eventual removal.
Mexican authorities claim that during the rush for the border, some migrants tried to attack and injure several police officers securing the Chaparral/San Ysidro Port of Entry. Those actions violate various Mexican laws regarding criminal behavior by foreigners, the statement by INM revealed.

Mexico Deported 11K Central Americans Since Mid-October – 1,900 from Caravans
Mexican immigration authorities announced the deportation of more than 11,000 Central American migrants in the country illegally since mid-October. The figure includes more than 1,900 whom were parts of the various migrant caravans.
Mexico’s National Immigration Institute (INM) announced the 11,000 deportations were the result of immigration checkpoints and other operations throughout throughout the country. Some migrants also sought self-deportation. Of those, INM claims 1,906 were part of the migrant caravans.
While much of the media attention centered around the migrant caravans and their treks to Tijuana, little light is shed on the more than 1,000 daily apprehensions of migrants by the U.S. Border Patrol. Read more here

TX Teacher Killed by Illegal Alien Driver
A 28-year old Texas teacher lost her life on Thanksgiving Day after being struck by a hit-and-run driver who, reportedly, was in the United States illegally and had a criminal record.
The victim, Amanda “Mandy” Ferguson Weyant, was in the crosswalk of an El Paso intersection when a 1996 red Chevrolet Cavalier ran a traffic light and crashed into her during the early morning hours of Thanksgiving Day, according to police. The driver of the vehicle fled.
Weyant, who taught sixth grade locally at Eastwood Heights Elementary, died on scene, said El Paso police. Later, officers later found the abandoned car but not the suspect. They asked the public for their help. Then, on Saturday, Sergeant Robert Gomez, El Paso Police Department spokesman, announced detectives arrested Joel Velazquez, 24, charging him with accident involving death. They booked the suspect into the El Paso County Detention Facility and and set his bail at $150,000.
KFOX reported Velazquez appeared to be in the U.S. illegally and was placed on an ICE detention hold related to his immigration status. Also, according to the local news outlet, Velazquez was out on bond from a 2017 assault charge at the time of the fatal hit-and-run. Online jail records showed Velazquez was charged with assault causing bodily injury last year. Read more here

MSNBC reporter Gadi Schwartz, who is on the ground in Tijuana, Mexico, said Monday that most of the caravan members he’s encountered are males — many of whom are not seeking asylum.
MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle asked Schwartz to characterize the group of migrants he’s encountered, stating, “Some people look at these images and they listen to the president, who says, ‘It’s not women and children, it’s stone cold criminals.’”
“Give us the profile of who’s there mostly and what they’re looking for,” Ruhle added.
“The truth is, the majority of the people that are in this caravan, especially outside — if we can make our way all the way over there, we’ll show you the majority of them are men,” Schwartz said. “From what we’ve seen, the majority are actually men and some of these men have not articulated that need for asylum.” Read more here

While thousands of male migrants wait in food lines in Tijuana ready to invade the united States, others have sought to assault border patrol agents in an attempt to rush the border but were forced back with tear gas. Now, a border patrol chief claims that the male migrants attempting to cross the border illegally used women and children in their advance as they assaulted officers in the process.
