Growing number of sick children arriving at US border

WASHINGTON – A growing number of families and children apprehended at the U.S. border with Mexico are requiring medical treatment after a rigorous journey north in very crowded conditions, the head of Border Patrol said Monday.
At the close of a month in which two young Guatemalan children died in federal custody, six children were among 17 migrants hospitalized with illnesses, said Kevin McAleenan, commissioner of Customs and Border Protection.
On a typical day, he said, 50 people are referred to medical providers for checkups and treatment, though one day alone the authorities sent more than 80 to be treated. In recent days, he said, two pregnant women were rushed to hospitals immediately after they were taken into custody, as they were about to give birth. Read more here
Feds released 168,000 illegal immigrant family members into communities
The government is so overwhelmed by the border surge that it’s already released 168,000 illegal immigrant family members directly into communities, the government said Wednesday.
An ICE official made the revelation at a Senate hearing where she and other top immigration officials pleaded with Congress to do something to stop the surge of migrants that’s overwhelming the system.
April set new records, with the Border Patrol nabbing more than 58,000 illegal immigrants traveling as families in that month alone.
That was part of more than 109,000 illegal immigrants nabbed border wide, including at or between the ports of entry.
And for the first time in history, nearly half of the adults arriving are bringing children with them, looking to take advantage of the loopholes in U.S. policy that they believe — usually correctly — will earn them a foothold in the U.S.
“They have received the message loud and clear — bring a child, you will be released,” Carla Provost, chief of the Border Patrol, told Congress. Read more here

INVASION: One-third of Guatemalans want to move to America… and Dems are trying to make it happen as soon as possible
Most Americans, especially those who have traveled abroad, agree that America is the greatest place on earth to live, raise a family, and — with some work, education, and dedication — live a good and prosperous life.
But they also understand that as big and as wealthy as the United States has become, we cannot take on all of the world’s needy. We don’t have the space, we don’t have the money, and our people don’t have the tolerance for it.
And yet, increasingly, the Democrat Party backs open borders and the importation of as much of the poor, needy, Third World as possible, because a) they see the mass migration of the world’s poor to the U.S. as an endless stream of favorable voters; b) mass migration is politically destabilizing, which is something the party wants; and c) more poor people mean more people for Democrats to ‘rule’ over.
That’s why the results of a recent survey were music to the ears of “open-border” Democrats or, at least, those in elected office, because of the opportunity it presents.

According to a recent survey of Guatemalans conducted by the Association for Research and Social Studies and Barometro de las Americas, 39.2 percent of Guatemalans would like to migrate, 85 percent of them to the United States. Which means that roughly 5.6 million Guatemalans would like to come here, not including the close to one million who already came here in recent years.
The Daily Caller noted that, according to the survey, nearly 6-in-10 (58 percent) of the nearly 1,600 respondents claimed they already had a relative living in the U.S.
The survey was originally published on a news site called Prensa Libre. The article, according to TheDC, noted that family reunification and “lack of employment and poverty” are why most Guatemalans want to come to the United States. And of course, the Guatemalan government isn’t going to do much to stop them because the government would love to export its poverty to some other country, but the U.S. in particular because migrants who find work here can send money back to their relatives in Guatemala. Immigration top US crime, one-third of all sentencings
Immigration crime, virtually all involving illegal male, Hispanic immigrants, was the top offense in federal courts last year, according to the United States Sentencing Commission.
In its just-released annual report, the commission said that immigration crimes accounted for 34.4% of all sentencing cases, up from 30% last year.
Nearly tied with drug crimes in fiscal 2017, crimes involving immigration expanded the gap in fiscal 2018, said the commission.
Overall, the courts saw 69,425 cases and most involved Hispanics and illegal immigrants.
“In fiscal year 2018, 54.3 percent of all offenders were Hispanic, 21.2 percent were white, 20.6 percent were black, and 3.8 percent were of another race. Non-U.S. citizens accounted for 42.7 percent of all federal offenders,” said the federal commission. Read more here
